Antique Nihonto - O-Wakizashi, Late Muromachi, Unsigned

This wakizashi is cut down from a longer sword (see how the end of its nakago is not tapered), and it's blade length at 23.5" is just half an inch short of being classified as a katana.

It is likely a late Muromachi (16th century) sword with Edo fittings.
