This small tanto is double-edged with a slight curve, a construction known as Moroha-Zukuri. The style was more common in the 1400s among Bizen smiths, though the vivid, varying fold patterns on this one looks to be a late Edo shinshinto copy. It is clay tempered on both sides.
It comes in kaiken koshirae, with a wooden kogai.
