Antique Nihonto - Satsuma Katana, Late Edo, Unsigned
Some lacquer loss near the kojiri, a small forging flaw on the omote mune.
This katana was likely used during the Satsuma Rebellion, when the last samurai rose up against the Meiji government. These swords are characterized by their large size and hastily assembled mounts.
