Unsigned antique wakizashi with an interesting hamon that suggests the Bizen tradition from late Muromachi period to early Edo.
Blade is in old polish with several surface scratches, as well as hakobore (battle scars on the edge) and a fukure near the habaki.
The saya is finished with pine needles and crushed shell, and is original to the sword. The tsuka would benefit from a professional rewrap and menuki.
The iron tsuba depicts a crane and tortoise.
