Collection: Kingston Arms at RVA Katana

A premium line of classic European arms and armor from one of the world’s leading manufacturers and distributors of fine cutlery, CAS Iberia presents Kingston Arms; historical, reliable, durable and authentic reproductions of history’s finest pieces. Several series are planned from the currently available Tourney series of blunt reenactment and stage swords to several sharp reproduction swords including several made and/or designed by noted sword maker Gus Trim (Atrim). We also have several swords in the works developed specifically for HEMA practitioners, both sparring federschwerts and sharp cutting swords.

Gus Trim made swords

Angus (Gus) Trim has agreed to produce a handful of his exceptional swords for us. Based out of Washington state Gus has created a reputation over many years as a leading performance sword maker. Being one of the first makers to adopt the notion of harmonic balance in sword design his swords have an unusual quality that must be held to be appreciated. These swords are available in limited quantity.

Atrim Design

In addition to making several sword models for us, Gus has designed even more for us to produce overseas. Our goal was simple: to provide 90% of the performance of an Atrim original at 1/3 the cost. Getting there wasn't so simple... but after several rounds of prototypes and a botched first run our first approved swords are on the way! Now that we know the forge can pull it off we have several more designs in the works as well.

These swords offer the best performance of any production sword currently available.

HEMA Swords

HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts) has been gaining popularity for several years now and shows no sign of slowing down. CAS Iberia was at the forefront of this movement when we released our first Federschwert training sword almost a decade ago. For Kingston Arms we designed a more modern take on the classic sparring longsword, incorporating some modern features and design ideas to create our Sport Federschwert. We designed the blade to be light and fast with a fair amount of flex to appeal to club practitioners that wanted to drill and spar in complete safety. The guard was specially designed to incorporate a thumb ramp for easy placement of the thumb on the blade during Ochs. The guard also features our King-Peen system (see below in Tourney Series) for enhanced durability. The pommel sides were flattened in the same plane as the blade flats to aid in perception of edge alignment.

On top of all of these design characteristics we've also managed to make the Kingston Arms Feder one of the most affordable on the market!
