Antique Nihonto - Early Edo (350 years old) Kanmuri-Otoshi Wakizashi in Koshirae - NTHK attributed to Shimosa Daijo Kanemasa

This unsigned wakizashi is forged in the uncommon Kanmuri-otoshi profiile with both blade and Koshirae certified by the NTHK.

The blade is attributed to Shimosa Daijo Fujiwara Kanemasa (下総大掾藤原兼正), a Shinto Smith active from the Kanbun to Enpo eras (1661-1681) in Echizen Province (modern day Fukui Prefecture).  Born Hattori Kichiheibei, he worked in Echizen, Edo, and Hikone and was granted the title Shimosa Daijo by the Imperial Court.  He is believed to have been the grandson of 5th Generation Kanenori from the Akasaka Senjuin School near Sekigahara.  It was founded by Sensui, a smith of the Senjuin School in Yamato (modern day Nara). The first generation Kanenori is believed to have worked around 1500. 4th-generation Kanenori moved from Mino to Echizen Province in the Tensho Era (1573-1592).

We make every attempt to ship within three business days by the customer’s preferred shipping method.

INTERNATIONAL ORDERS

Please note that the customer is responsible for understanding the import restrictions of their country, and that RVA Katana is not responsible for items seized in customs, or for swords that are not delivered for failure of the customer to pay customs, duties, or other carrier fees.

INCORRECT SHIPPING INFORMATION

If you accidentally enter an incorrect address, we are able to change it in our system free of charge before shipping.  If you inform us after shipping, then we are not responsible for lost packages or return fees.

Returns

You may return any item unused within three days of receipt at your cost (we can provide a shipping label at reduced rates).  After inspection of the returned item, we will refund you for the cost of said item, minus any shipping charges that we have covered.

After three days, a 20% restocking fee applies to any return.
