“Mutsu no Daijō Kaneyasu” (陸奥大掾包保), “Kaneyasu” (包保), real name Dan Kyūdayū (団九太夫), he came originally from Tango province but went later to Ōsaka to study there under the 1st gen. Kaneyasu, he was eventuallyadopted by Kaneyasu and became his successor, first he used the name Kaneshige (包重) whereas he signed this name in mirrored writing as his master did, with the change to the name and mei “Mutsu no Kami Kaneyasu,” he signed in normal manner, because of that, he is also called Migi-Mutsu (右陸奥, lit. “right-hander Kaneyasu”) to distinguish himfrom the 1st gen., we also worked for the Mizuno family (水野) in their lands in Matsumoto (松本) in Shinano province,we know date signatures from the fifth year of Enpō (1677) to the second year of Genroku (元禄, 1689), some of his blades bear the supplement Kabutowari (甲割, “helm splitter”) in the mei, dense ko-itame, sometimes also mixed with ō-hada, gunome-chōji, suguha-chō mixed with gunome, suguha-notare mixed with gunome-ashi, the jiba is very nie-laden, sometimes tobiyaki and/or muneyaki appear, during his early years he applied gyaku-sujikai yasurime, later as 2nd gen. Kaneyasu he finished his tangs with sujikai-yasurime, but both interpretations tend to kiri towards the start of the tang, jō-saku
