The blade is made from durable T10 tool steel, featuring a honeycomb styled Habaki. The handle and scabbard are made from lacquered hardwood. Incorrectly referred to as a Shirasaya (which is meant for the long term storage of a blade), this style is often referred to as a Shikomizue.
