The Phoenix Head Tachi is based on the Meiji Era torikubi court tachi. It features exquisite brass fittings, full rayskin tsuka, and a custom lacquered saya.
The enormous, 31.5" nagasa blade is koshizori, reminiscent of old court tachi. A folded steel jacket is laminated to a harder steel core.
The cutting edge is clay tempered, with a three shade polish to bring out the details in the steel and hamon.
The blade has a small scratch (pictured), which lowers the price by $100.
